49ers-Cowboys flexed out of prime time

Can you really blame them?

After yet another underwhelming offensive performance in 34-24 loss on Monday, the 49ers have found themselves stuck in a cycle. They are unable to be competitive unless they get an early lead and run the ball effectively. In a game with the Bills which quickly became a shootout, they were woefully outmatched, and dealt a serious blow to their playoff hopes.

Now at 5-7, San Francisco needs to win out and get help from multiple other teams to make the playoffs. As such, their Week 15 game against the 3-9 Dallas Cowboys has been flexed out of a 5:20 P.T. Sunday night prime time spot on NBC, and moved to a 10 a.m. PT slot on CBS.

Their replacement is perhaps the most embarrassing part of the news, though the names involved make it look worse than it is.

Now, the Cleveland Browns (9-3) will face the New York Giants (5-7) in that Sunday night slot.

To give credit to both, the Browns have been outstanding under Kevin Stefanski this season, and the Giants, after starting 0-5 (and 1-7), have won four-straight games, and are tied with Washington for the lead in the NFC East.
