The 49ers are back on the road for their first home game in three weeks.

Wait, what?

That’s right, San Francisco will play their first “home” game in Arizona on Monday, since being kicked out of Santa Clara County due to COVID-19 protocols. The Cardinals’ State Farm Stadium will be the scene, and the setting is already looking bizarre according preliminary photos of the set up, that combine 49ers and Cardinals logos throughout the stadium.

According to those photos, the Cardinals stadium employees will not be repainting the end zones for Monday’s game, which is taking place one day after Arizona hosted, and beat, the Rams on Sunday.

The 49ers will stay in Arizona for at least one more week, facing off against the Washington Football Team next Sunday. They may return for their final “home” game vs. the Seahawks on January 3, depending on the status of the Santa Clara County temporary ban against contact sports.

No matter how many times they end up playing here, it’s unlikely we get used to this scene anytime soon.
