Aaron Donald said over a month ago that he’d never heard of Deebo Samuel. Is it safe to say he knows who he is now?
Samuel ran rampant over the Rams for 133 yards on 11 catches in his return to the field on Sunday. He was electric in the teams’ first meeting this season as well, catching six for 66 and a touchdown. After that Oct. 18 game — another 49ers win, 24-16 — Donald said “Who is that?” when asked about Samuel during a postgame presser.
Samuel responded then by reminding Donald that the 49ers are 3-0 against the Rams with him in the lineup. He had some more fun on Twitter Sunday, after the 49ers’ 23-20 victory sealed a season sweep of Los Angeles. Samuel tweeted a video of Donald slamming his helmet, with the crying laughing emoji. Javon Kinlaw, who had his second-straight impact performance on Sunday, retweeted with the same.

To be fair, Donald had an outstanding game for the Rams, with five tackles, a sack, a forced fumble and a key deflection that led to an interception.
But it’s been a tough season for the 49ers, and they’re not going to squander an opportunity to relish when the chance presents itself.
