Klay Thompson is a good guy.
The eminently likable Golden State guard honored the dying wish of a Warriors fan on Monday, FaceTiming with her for 25 minutes at the request of her husband.
On Friday, KTVU’s Frank Somerville shared the story of Debbie Wright, an avid Warriors fan, who was recently told she has two-to-six weeks left to live while fighting metastatic breast cancer. Her husband, Randall, shared her story, and said that her last wish was to meet, in any way possible, her favorite Warrior, Klay.
“I ask for nothing else … no gifts, money, or anything … just for the possibility of a visit from Mr. Thompson,” the message said to Somerville from Randall.
Klay obliged.
“Greetings, Mr. Somerville! We had our video meeting with Klay this morning! It lasted about 25 minutes. Klay is really a kind and gentle soul. He even introduced his dog Rocko to my Bride!” Randall wrote.
“There’s so much garbage on social media. But there are also stories like this. Stories that matter. Stories that make a difference. Man I’m getting emotional just writing this. Deborah will never forget what Klay Thompson did today. I would like to thank him too for what he did. I think he’s amazing.”
