Deebo Samuel is back on his feet and moving.
The 49ers wide receiver who is coming off a stellar rookie campaign, sustained a Jones fracture in his foot two months ago during a workout with teammates. Deebo’s timeline for return is expected to be around 10-12 weeks, but Jones fractures can be complicated; Trent Taylor missed all of last season as he dealt with an infection related to surgery.
It’s then heartening to see the video Samuel posted to Instagram on Sunday night, that show the receiver on his feet and making cuts seven weeks into his recovery.
John Lynch said on KNBR two weeks ago that Samuel may not be ready to start the season. If Samuel remains on the PUP list when the regular season commences during the second week of September, he’d have to miss at least the first six weeks. Sunday’s video would seem to serve as a good indication that Samuel won’t be out that long.
