Like many other major league teams, the Dodgers have filled portions of their stadium with cardboard cutouts of fans in lieu of real people during the COVID-19 pandemic. During Saturday’s Giants-Dodgers game one was involved in the first truly hilarious, if macabre, cutout related incident of the season.
The cutout, of Dodger fan Austin Donley, seated in the left filed bleachers, took a Will Smith home run off the face, and nearly lost his entire head.
Donley asked on Twitter if he gets to keep the ball. Considering the damage done, that only seems fair.
