The Giants’ most impressive performance of the young season hasn’t been without a few scares.
First there was Hunter Pence nearly being decapitated by a high fastball in the fifth inning, one that ultimately bounced off his left hand. Despite the obvious pain, Pence would stay in the game.
Wow. Hunter Pence popped right back up and stayed in the game after this scary pitch. pic.twitter.com/z1e1hH0Dd5

Then there was left fielder Austin Slater, who made a ridiculous, twisting catch in the sixth inning, before slamming awkwardly into the left field wall. Though he laid flat on his back in the immediate aftermath, Slater thankfully was
uninjured.
