If you thought that Rudy Gobert’s recklessness in the days before contracting the coronavirus was going to be water under the bridge for his teammates, think again. Donovan Mitchell who was the only other member of the Jazz to contract the illness after Gobert, is still very much upset with the former Defensive Player of the Year according to a report in The Athletic.

“It doesn’t appear salvageable,” one source with knowledge of the situation said.

Gobert and Mitchell had shared space regularly in two travel days leading up to Gobert’s positive test, according to The Athletic. This coincided with Gobert’s now infamous decision to jokingly touch every microphone and phone in front of him during a press conference, just two days before it was discovered he’d contracted the virus. The NBA was suspended in the moments preceding that discovery, leading to all sports being halted in the coming days and weeks.

Reports swirled that Gobert had been careless in the days leading up to his positive test. Mitchell admitted to Good Morning America last month that it took him awhile to “cool off,” about everything that led up to his contraction.
