HOME — No fans are in the stadiums, and yet there might be more interest in baseball than ever.
Baseball is being played somewhere — in this case Japan, and these are just preseason games put on in empty stadiums because of the coronavirus spread. Yet, a couple ironic #ForeverGiants are providing moments in a time without them, throwing a splash of water against parched faces.
Remember Tyler Austin? Remember the Giants traded for the slugging first baseman/left fielder in early April last year? Remember how he torched lefties for a while before tailing off? Remember his nine bombs and 67 strikeouts last season before being DFA’d?
He’s now a Yokohama BayStar and still can destroy baseballs the opposite way, as seen at the video on top.
Remember Gerardo Parra? His stint was shorter, the veteran outfielder lasting just 30 games with San Francisco last season before being DFA’d in early May — only to then surface with Washington, where he became a Baby Shark’ing fan favorite for the World Series champs.
He’s again a Giant — a Yomiuri Giant — and is making nice grabs in right.

Even the briefest of oases should be appreciated.
