Listening to the news and wondering how you can help your community without stepping outside?
Below are sources where you can contribute monetary donations that will help support local food banks and protect the health of San Francisco and support the most vulnerable, including individuals, families, and local businesses.
San Francisco’s COVID-19 Emergency Response & Recovery Fund
Donations will directly support:
Critical facilities and supplies needed to protect the health of all San Franciscans in the face of COVID-19.
Taking care of our most medically and economically vulnerable neighbors, including individuals who must isolate per public health guidance and those facing economic hardship or a housing crisis related to COVID-19.
Local businesses and nonprofits that are not only significant contributors to the economy, but also are valued parts of our neighborhoods. Support will help businesses weather temporary closures or reduced demand due to the public health crisis.
Donations of any amount can be made. Donations over $100 will be acknowledged on the City of San Francisco website.
The Food Bank continues to do the day-in and day-out job of making sure vulnerable neighbors get the food they need. Now, they are putting solutions in place, one by one, to be able to continue providing food and helping our community prepare for whatever challenge the COVID-19 presents. Help families during the COVID-19 crisis. Every $1 provides 2 meals.

Second Harvest of Silicon Valley
Second Harvest is the grocery store for the most vulnerable members of the community and one of few organizations open as we “shelter in place.” During public health crises like the COVID-19 outbreak, kids and families on the brink of poverty are disproportionately impacted. When schools are closed and hourly wages are scaled back, the service they provide is even more critical. Yet, they’re facing unprecedented challenges with rapid changes to their volunteer workforce and distribution networks. Now more than ever, they need your support to make sure anyone who needs a healthy meal can get one.
