D’Angelo Russell trolling 49ers fans?
That’s what it looked like after the Warriors’ win over the Magic on Saturday, when the Golden State point guard showed up to the podium rocking an Aaron Rodgers jersey, less than 24 hours before the 49ers host the Packers in the NFC Championship Game.
Interesting choice for a player new to the area. Russell had an explanation though, telling NBC Sports that he worked out with Rodgers and other members of the Packers in Agoura Hills, Calif.
“It was cool, man,” Russell told NBC Sports Bay Area’s Logan Murdock. “Getting to witness the greatness up close — I was standing out a little bit so it was cool to kind of to see how he carries himself.”
What’s more, Russell said he’ll be rooting for the Packers on Sunday and wants them to win.
“It’d be great,” he said. “I’d probably wear the same jersey in here.”
