Warriors’ Jacob Evans helped off court after elbow to face

As the Warriors work on a new contract with Damion Lee, there might be even more incentive to bring him back to the lineup quickly.

Guard Jacob Evans was down on the court for several minutes before having to be helped to the locker room after being on the receiving end of a Dwight Powell elbow in Tuesday’s second quarter against the Mavericks.

Evans tried to compete with a lob to the Dallas big man, who extended his elbow and connected with Evans’ face with a few minutes left in the period. Evans staggered his way to the floor, then didn’t arise for a long while. There was no immediate update on him condition.

The Warriors, already down Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and with Ky Bowman in the G League on a two-way deal, are very much short on guards.
