Jimmy Garoppolo didn’t just turn heads with his play during Thursday night’s win over the Arizona Cardinals. He also turned heads after the final whistle, specifically that of sideline reporter Erin Andrews, when he called her “baby” and gave a wink during his postgame interview.
Unsurprisingly, the seemingly flirtatious moment went viral.
During Thursday’s media session, Matt Maiocco asked Jimmy G about the moment.
“Yeah I didn’t expect it to blow up like that,” Garoppolo said. “It is what it is type of thing, but yeah I was excited. 8-0 baby.”
Then he downplayed the idea that he was hitting on Andrews.
“I say baby like 500 times throughout a game just to my teammates and stuff so I didn’t mean it like that.”
