Giants manager Bruce Bochy became just the 11th manager in MLB history to accumulate 2,000 regular season wins after besting the Red Sox in Boston on Wednesday evening.
Bochy was serenaded with “Bochy, Bochy,” chants by the crowd at Fenway Park in the ninth inning before receiving an ovation from the remaining fans in attendance after the game.
He also received congratulations from 49ers general manager John Lynch, a likely Hall of Famer in his own right, on Thursday morning.
“Congrats on 2000 Boch!” Lynch wrote on Twitter. “That’s a bunch of W’s. What I admire most about that accomplishment is the way you went about racking up all those victories. You’ve displayed such class throughout the years, regardless of the outcome of the game. #Respect”

The 2,000 wins are just the cherry on top to what has been an almost certain Hall of Fame career for the Giants manager. Every manager who has racked up that many victories and won three World Series is inducted into Cooperstown.
