The San Francisco Police have issued a warning to avoid the area south or Oracle Park due to the investigation of a suspicious package. They say the package was found near the intersection of 3rd Street and Mission Rock St, and that the road closure could impact traffic to and from Oracle Park.
Users on Citizen, an app used to help follow police activity in cities across the country, have written that police are blocking both vehicle and foot traffic from entering parts of China Basin.
SFPD released the warning at 11:52 P.M., just under an hour before the San Francisco Giants are scheduled to play host to visiting Washington Nationals. At the time of posting, the third and final game of the Giants’ series has been unaffected by the police activity and the game started at the schedule time of 12:45 P.M..
This is a developing story, and any major updates will be added to this post.
