In the midst of an improbable resurgence, the San Francisco Giants reportedly won’t be selling off their top assets as the trade deadline approaches. That doesn’t mean they’ll be holding onto everybody.

One of those who could be on the move is starter turned reliever, Drew Pomeranz, who is “drawing sudden interest” around the league according to MLB reporter Ken Rosenthal. Pomeranz was moved to the bullpen last week after posting a 6.10 ERA in 17 starts. The switch has brought out the best in the veteran, who has struck out six in 4 1/3 relief innings.

Pomeranz, 30, is now another name in a handful of Giants left-handed relievers that would generate interest on the open market. Closer Will Smith is the biggest chip, but both he and Madison Bumgarner are no longer expected to be moved according to Eno Sarris of The Athletic. That leaves Pomeranz, Tony Watson, and minor-leaguers Andy Suarez and Sam Selman, as the most likely to be traded before July 31.
