Looks like Kevin Durant is staying in the Bay Area.
One of the biggest storylines surrounding the Warriors this season – to everyone not named Kevin Durant – is whether or not Kevin Durant plans to re-sign with Golden State.
Most rumors have Durant landing in New York, where he recently moved the headquarters of his company Thirty Five Ventures. Well not if Guy Fieri has anything to say about it.
In a recent article with GQ Fieri said he’s willing to pull out all the stops in order to bring Durant back to the bay.
“Call me, KD,” Fieri said. “Tell me what you need. [laughs] If there is a such thing as an inspiration dinner that I need to cook to bring all the dignitaries together—all the players, his team, his mom, you name it—well, consider that meal cooked. I think anybody in the Bay Area would give whatever they can give to keep him. And he’s such a nice guy. It’s more than just a player—it’s the character, the energy, the person he is. He’s phenomenal.
“So, yeah. You tell me what I can do. Tell me how I need to flex my food muscles, and I’ll make it happen.”
Fieri, who currently lives in Santa Rosa, is a massive Warriors fan. Time will tell if his pitch has any affect on Durant. But we can only hope that Durant accepts his offer and we get to see the video evidence.
This sounds like the making of a new episode for one of Fieri’s many television projects. Or maybe it’s an episode of Durant’s new show The Boardroom?
Take our idea for free. First one’s on the house, fellas.
