The Antonio Brown-to-49ers prospect was never met with equal interest from both sides. The Odell Beckham situation is a different story.
The 49ers have reportedly had “real interest” in the three-time Pro Bowl receiver since last year. Beckham has reportedly reciprocated that interest, saying he would most likely to be traded to either the 49ers or Los Angeles Rams, according to Colin Cowherd.

Beckham is under contract through at least the 2020 season, but the New York Giants have entertained trading him. One possible scenario would include the 49ers swapping their No. 2 pick, in addition to more assets, in exchange for the Giants’ No. 6 pick and Beckham. The Giants are in the market for a quarterback as Eli Manning enters the final years of his career. If they are high on a particular quarterback in the draft, moving to the No. 2 spot would likely ensure they get their guy.
But these conversations have been ongoing. The 49ers likely want to hold onto their No. 2 pick, which can be used on a dynamic edge rusher that they currently lack. The Giants, according to reporter Jay Glazer, have proposed a “ridiculous asking price,” though he didn’t specify.

This is going to come down to whether both sides see eye to eye on a fair deal. Everything else is set in stone: the Giants are willing to trade Beckham for the right price, the 49ers want him, and Beckham is interested in the 49ers.
Buckle up, 49ers fans. Free agency officially begins Wednesday at 1 p.m.
