OAKLAND – The Warriors lost to the Bucks Thursday night, but the thing on the mind of most following the game was the health of Stephen Curry, who left in the third quarter with a strained groin. Curry got a MRI Friday morning, and Steve Kerr said that the news was mostly good.
“The MRI looked good in terms of not being too serious,” Kerr told media. “But he’s not going to play tomorrow. It’s kind of something we’re going to evaluate over the next few days. He’s still sore. But it’s a strained groin is basically the injury. But the MRI was encouraging. But it will kind of be a day to day thing. But obviously we won’t do anything crazy. He’s going to be out until he’s healthy and ready to go.
“I had the injury several times when I was playing. It’s hard to move laterally when you’ve got that tweak in your groin. It’s not a quad, the movement is fine. But you get that tweak on the inside of your thigh and the lateral movement becomes difficult. You got to get the movement and the strength back in it before he can go out and play. It’s going to be at least a few days before he gets on the floor but we’ll see how it goes from there.”
Curry entered this season completely healthy after missing 31 games last year with a myriad of issues. Curry is off to a scorching start, averaging 29.5 points per game while shooting 51.5 percent from the field and 49.2 percent from deep.
