C.J. Beathard’s right wrist is still bothering him.
Beathard missed practice on Tuesday, and would have missed practice on Monday had the 49ers held it according to head coach Kyle Shanahan. With San Francisco’s matchup vs. the Raiders just two days away, Shanahan said Beathard is likely to be a game time decision, and that he is currently struggling to hold the ball. Shanahan added that if the game was on Sunday, Beathard would be good to go.
C.J. Beathard will miss today’s practice with an injured right wrist. Kyle Shanahan said Beathard could play if the game was on Sunday, but his availability won’t be known until closer to Thursday’s game time. Added that Beathard “struggled today to hold a ball.”

If Beathard is unable to go, it would mean the first career start for backup quarterback Nick Mullens. Former Texans quarterback Tom Savage is also on the roster, but the 49ers have made it clear that Savage is the third stringer.
