Just two days after hitting his head in a collision with Gorkys Hernandez, Brandon Crawford is back in the Giants starting lineup.
Crawford was removed in the fifth inning of Monday night’s 5-2 Giants win over the Dodgers. He collided with Hernandez in the fourth but returned to the game in the top of the fifth inning to bat. After talking with Dave Groeschner, the Giants’ director of athletic training, Crawford was removed from the game.
The longtime Giants shortstop also sat in last night’s 2-1 Giants’ win, but passed concussion protocol and was available to hit last night according to Andrew Baggarly.
Important footnote on a wild night: Brandon Crawford was available to pinch hit, he is out of concussion protocol and should be ready to start tomorrow. #SFGiants

The Giants will have their two Brandons – Crawford and Belt – back in the starting lineup again for the first time since July 25. Belt returned off the bench last night to score the winning run for the Giants in the ninth.
According to Baggarly, Crawford said he was not worried about missing an extended period of time.
Brandon Crawford said he was a bit dazed but never felt concerned he sustained a head injury of any consequence. His head collided with Gorkys thigh.
