Former Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant, 29, is still a free agent. At this point, it’s unclear where the three-time Pro Bowler will land this offseason.
If he got to choose his destination, however, it looks like he’d prefer to join Jimmy Garoppolo and Co. in Santa Clara.
That’s what Bryant said in a now deleted Instagram post last weekend, when a commenter asked Dez what team he wants to go to.
“49ers,” Bryant responded.

Stylistically, Bryant is the big, physical receiver the 49ers lack. But he’s coming off a mediocre season by his standards, averaging a career low 12.1 yards per catch in 2017, and ranking as the 47th best wide receiver in the league according to Pro Football Focus. Overall Bryant had 69 catches for 838 yards and six touchdowns.
Bryant’s market value according to Spotrac would be worth around $9.4 million per year, $100,000 less than what Pierre Garcon, San Francisco’s highest paid receiver, is due to earn in 2018. Overall the 49ers have $37 million in available cap space.
Garcon and Marquise Goodwin are the incumbent starting wideouts for the 49ers heading into training camp.
