SAN FRANCISCO — This is only the second time this season that the San Francisco Giants have hit consecutive home runs, and with the game tied 5-5, the timing couldn’t have been better.
Brandon Belt crushed his 11th home run of the year in the 7th inning on Sunday, lifting the Giants to a 8-5 lead over the Colorado Rockies. However, the Giants’ offensive surge wasn’t over yet, as Nick Hundley went yard to let field at the next at bat.
Belt’s 408-foot home run is his first home run this year against a left handed pitcher. Belt is .423/ 5 HR/ 11 RBI/ 3 BB during the home stand.
Hundley now has five home runs on the year. His solo blast on Sunday gave the Giants a 9-5 lead.
