We were beginning to think that game would never end.

It took five and a half hours, 14 innings and a walk-off home run, but the San Francisco Giants beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 7-5 Saturday night when Andrew McCutchen blasted a home run to left center to end the game.

The new Giant let his emotions fly after hitting the pitch, screaming as he exited the box. His teammates were ready for him when he got back to home plate, pouring a jug of water on him when he completed his trip around the bases.

McCutchen played an incredible game. He went 6-for-7 from the plate, and had four of the team’s seven RBIs on the afternoon. The right fielder is now batting .258 on the season, with a .281 OBP. Saturday’s trip around the bases was his first as a member of the Giants. It was also the first time in his career he’s had six hits in one game.

Keep doing things like that, Andrew, and you’ll make more than a few fans in San Francisco.
