The last thing the Warriors can afford is losing another one of their All-Stars to an injury.
On Monday night, in the second quarter of Golden State’s matchup with the San Antonio Spurs, forward Draymond Green left the game after he collided mid-air with Spurs foward Danny Green. Green crumpled over, writhing in pain.
Shortly after the injury, ESPN’s Doris Burke reported Green wouldn’t return to the game. The injury is being called a ‘midsection contusion.’
The Warriors entered Monday night’s game without Stephen Curry (ankle), Kevin Durant (ribs), and Klay Thompson (thumb). It was the second straight game that the trio of All-Stars sat out. Omri Casspi was also sidelined after suffering an ankle injury last Friday.
“We are running out of bodies,” Kerr said after Friday’s game.
That statement would continue to apply on Monday night, with Green, Golden State’s only available All-Star, joining the list of injured Warriors.
