It appears as if Klay Thompson’s sprained right thumb, which was initially believed to be merely a day-to-day issue, might take a few weeks to heal, according to Marcus Thompson of The Athletic.
"There is a growing concern that (Klay) Thompson’s injury, sustained in Sunday's loss at Minnesota, could cost him some weeks for it to heal and that it’s not a day-to-day thing." https://t.co/BwttInGLw4

With under a minute to go before halftime in Saturday’s loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves, Klay reached for his hand after attempting to steal Jeff Teague’s drive. Klay finished the game with 21 points, five assists, and four rebounds in 39:56 minutes of action while visibly experiencing discomfort,.

Since becoming a starter in 2012-13, Klay has averaged roughly 80 games played per year through 2017, over which time he’s never missed more than five games in single season. This season began no differently as Klay only missed one of Golden State’s 66 games, but this could be the first time in his career that he’s out for an extended period of time.
Kla was one of seven players; including Stephen Curry, who’s ankle will be re-evaluated on March 20, listed on the Warriors’ injury report for their Wednesday night meeting with the Los Angeles Lakers.
