Shortly after, it was reported by Nathan Fenno of the Los Angeles Times that Smith will serve some jail time after the 30-year-old cornerback plead guilty to felony assault charges made against him from an incident that occurred last July.
His plea will have him serving one year in prison with three years probation, but if convicted as charged, Smith faces a maximum sentence of seven years.

Smith allegedly beat and stomped on his sister’s boyfriend’s head in Pasadena, California, for which he faced up to seven years in prison. Woods suffered several facial fractures, along with other injuries.
Nonetheless, Smith was able to postpone his court date and played 14 games with the Raiders last season, where he made 32 tackles, two assists, and two interceptions.
Smith first reached the NFL as a member of the Miami Dolphins and spent the first four years of his career as their starting cornerback. He then played for the Kansas City Chiefs from 2013-2015 before signing a four-year, $40 million deal with the Oakland Raiders.
