Curry to debut special shoe Wednesday honoring My Brother’s Keeper Alliance

Stephen Curry has announced he will debut a new shoe on Wednesday for a good cause.

Curry has partnered with My Brother’s Keeper Alliance, a program started by Barack Obama in 2015 to help boys and young men of color to reach their full potential. During Wednesday’s game against the Wizards, Curry will wear and then auction off a new custom made shoe, with all the proceeds going to the foundation which “focuses on building safe and supportive communities for boys and young men of color where they feel valued and have clear pathways to opportunity,” according to the official website.

The inspiration for the shoe I’ll be playing in today is every boy and young man of color in this country that need to know they matter – to their communities, their country, to me. Four years ago this week, the @mbk_alliance was created to reduce barriers and expand opportunity so nothing stands in the way of everyone achieving their biggest dreams. Curry was involved in the rollout of the campaign in 2016, and participated in a series of commercials with the former President.
