LeBron James is slated to become a free agent this offseason, and nobody knows what he’s going to do. Some believe the deadline moves the Cavs made will be enough to entice him to stay, while others believe he’ll head elsewhere, with Los Angeles thrown out as a likely landing spot.
A seemingly less likely scenario involves James joining the rival Golden State Warriors, something he’d be willing to entertain according to an ESPN report. James has since denounced the idea, but former Hall of Fame point guard Isiah Thomas thinks it’s where he should go if he does indeed leave Cleveland, saying as much on Fox Sports’ First Things First Tuesday morning.
“If I’m LeBron James, if I don’t stay in Cleveland…I go to Golden State. I go and play with Kevin Durant.” — Two-time NBA champion @iamisiahthomas pic.twitter.com/BPxg4GSfG0

ESPN’s Chris Haynes reported on Feb. 1 that James would consider giving the Warriors a meeting this summer if they are able to create a max salary slot on their roster. Golden State is likely to be financially strapped this upcoming offseason, especially if Kevin Durant doesn’t opt out of his deal. The Warriors currently have the highest payroll in the NBA at $137.4 million.
