It looks like the Raiders gave Jon Gruden a blank check in order get him to return as their head coach.
Owner Mark Davis is giving Gruden a 10-year contract worth $100 million, which would be both the longest and most expensive contract for a coach in NFL history, according to multiple reports. All of the money is expected to be guaranteed.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were originally reported as the most likely destination for Gruden, but it stands to reason that things changed when Davis’s outrageously lucrative offer was put on the table.
According to multiple reports, the Raiders are planning on holding a press conference Tuesday to announce the hiring of Gruden as their head coach. Gruden has been out of football for 10 years, and previously served as Raiders coach from 1998-2001, finishing with a 38-26 record, and making two playoff appearances.
The Raiders are scheduled to be in Oakland for two more years before moving to Las Vegas, meaning that Gruden is on the hook for eight seasons in the team’s future home.
