It’s said that there’s no such thing as a free lunch, but on April 17, there will be a free baseball game at the Oakland Coliseum.

This season will be the 50th year since the Athletics organization moved to Oakland after 13 years in Kansas City, and on April 17, the same day in 1968 that the franchise played it’s inaugural game at the Oakland Coliseum, fans can watch the A’s take the field against the Chicago White Sox for free.

That’s right. Completely free.

Fans can sign up for these free tickets beginning on January 10 at 8 A.M. at athletics.com/50, with the exception of season ticket holders whose free tickets will automatically be added to their accounts.

“We are extremely excited to offer this gift to the city as we celebrate 50 years in Oakland,” A’s President Dave Kaval told the San Francisco Chronicle. “The entire 2018 season will be a celebration of the A’s rich history, and offering the first free MLB game is another unique way for us to celebrate our team and wonderful fans.”
