The Oakland Raiders have fired head coach Jack Del Rio after three seasons, according to a report by Vic Tafur of The Athletic. The news follows reports that surfaced on Saturday evening that Raiders owner Mark Davis is targeting John Gruden to return as the team’s head coach next season, and is prepared to offer him a lucrative deal that could include an ownership stake.

Following the news, Tafer reported a mixed reaction in the Raiders’ locker room.

Del Rio, 54, went 25-23 in his three seasons with the Raiders, making the playoffs in 2016 with a 12-4 record. Del Rio was given a four-year contract extension last offseason.
