NBC Sports Bay Area announces new Warriors’ sideline reporter

If you’re watching Warriors’ games from home this season, you’ll see a new face conducting interviews and offering sideline analysis.

Following the departure of fan favorite Rosalyn Gold-Onwude, who left NBC Sports Bay Area for a national role with Turner Sports, the network hired Kerith Burke to step in and fill Gold-Onwude’s shoes.

Gold-Onwude will still be a fixture at Warriors’ games this season as she’s expected to serve as a sideline reporter for a number of Turner Sports’ broadcasts, but when the Warriors are not on national TV, expect to see Burke on your screen.

Burke has over a decade of experience in broadcasting and has extensive experience covering sports on the east coast, where she worked for SportsNet New York. Burke actually subbed in for Gold-Onwude for two games last season, so her full-time debut at Friday’s preseason finale will not be her first time covering Golden State.

“It’s a dream to cover the defending NBA champions and this world-class organization,” Burke said in an NBC Sports Bay Area press release.  “The team has achieved so much and built the foundation for more. I feel like the luckiest reporter alive. I’m thrilled to work with NBC Sports Bay Area to bring to life all the Warriors’ stories from this incredible roster.”

Burke was born in Seattle, Washington and attended the Edward R. Murrow School of Journalism at Washington State, and the Warriors feel that her experience working in major markets will help he transition to the high-profile role.

“Kerith is a perfect fit for our broadcast team,” Warriors’ President and COO Rick Welts said. “Her extensive experience in major markets and covering high-profile teams will make her transition seamless.  We’re excited about her addition and know that our fans will benefit from her extensive insight.”
