OAKLAND–It’s a poorly kept secret that college basketball is laced with bribes and corruption, and now the Federal Bureau of Investigation is stepping in.

This week the FBI arrested ten people – from college coaches to apparel employees – related to corruption and bribery in the NCAA. Of these ten people four were assistant coaches at D1 schools.

Reporters asked Steve Kerr about the investigation Wednesday at the team’s practice facility, and he was quick to answer.

“There’s a reason I coach in the NBA.” Kerr laughed.

“I never wanted to be a college coach. I don’t immerse myself in that stuff. But, yeah. The NBA is very pure. We don’t need to make any apologies or concessions about what we’re doing.

“We’re just playing basketball. And it’s a business. The NCAA obviously has to figure out on many levels who they are, and what they’re doing.”
