“You want to get the crowd going?” @thisisdspan says how about a lead off Inside-the-Park HR. #SFGiants up 1-0https://t.co/E8JdoW0m3f pic.twitter.com/QbcudhKi7E

AT&T Park got loud fast on Saturday night thanks to Denard Span.
Fresh off a one-two-three first inning from Ty Blach, Span led off the home half of the first inning facing right-hander Jerad Eickoff and needed just one pitch. A hard-hit line drive to right, combined with a tricky carom and a misplayed skid by not one, but two Phillies’ oufielders led to Span racing around the bases, losing his helmet, and sprinting past home plate for a stand-up, inside-the-park leadoff home run.
It was Span’s first career inside the park home run, and his second lead off home run on the year. His inside-the-parker marked the second one at AT&T this year, coming just one homestand after Javier Baez accomplished the feat.
It was also the first lead-off, inside-the-parker in about 62 years.

Not a bad way to start this one for the Giants.
