The San Francisco 49ers today announced that DB Jimmie Ward has been placed on the Active/Physically Unable to Perform List. This comes one day after general manager John Lynch told reporters that the team would enter camp without anybody on that list.

According to Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area, Ward sustained a hamstring injury during the team’s conditioning test, and is listed as “week to week.”

Players placed on the Active/Physically Unable to Perform List count against the 90-man roster limit and can be activated at any time prior to the final cuts of training camp. If he opens the season still on the list, Ward will be required to miss the first six weeks of the season.
