Chris Stratton is back in the big leagues.
Prior to Tuesday’s game versus the Pirates, the Giants announced that the right-handed pitcher has been called up to San Francisco.
The #SFGiants have called up Chris Stratton and optioned Orlando Calixte to AAA Sacramento

To make room for Stratton, Orlando Calixte has been optioned down to AAA Sacramento. Having appeared in just 10 games this season, Calixte never got into a rhythm at the plate, hitting just .172 in 33 plate appearances with four RBIs and one extra-base hit.
Stratton, 26, has bounced between Sacramento and San Francisco multiple times throughout the 2017 season, getting knocked around in his three appearances with the Giants, posting a 9.00 ERA in 10 innings pitched. Stratton – the Giants’ first-round draft pick in 2012 – made his first career start on July 6 in Detroit, allowing 5 earned runs in 6 and 2/3 innings.
In his last start with Sacramento, Stratton allowed two runs in 6 and 2/3 innings pitched, and has a 5.11 ERA in 15 appearances. Stratton will presumably be sent to the bullpen.
