Christian Arroyo has had a bad go of it lately with his left hand.
After getting a taste of the big leagues with the Giants early in the season, the third baseman was sent back down to the AAA Sacramento River Cats.
On June 14, Arroyo was placed on the disabled list for two weeks after his left hand was bruised by a pitch. In his first game back, Arroyo sustained a break to the same hand after being hit in the same spot by another pitch.
On Monday, Arroyo underwent surgery on the hand and tweeted that everything went well
I'm out of surgery and everything went well! Thank you for all of the words of encouragement !

The initial diagnosis following the break on July 2 was that Arroyo would be out for at least two months, although it could be longer. It’s bad luck for one of the Giants’ prospects, who more than likely would have been called up again during the season. It remains to be seen if he will be able to make it back for the end of a disappointing 2017 campaign for the Giants.
