SAN FRANCISCO – Saturday afternoon the San Francisco Giants welcome the Miami Marlins to AT&T Park to play the second game of a three-game set, but that wasn’t the day’s only event at the park.

Barry Bonds was on hand to help unveil his own plaque on the San Francisco Giants Wall of Fame. He was joined on stage by his family, godfather Willie Mays, Willie McCovey, Giants owner Larry Baer, former teammates Kirk Rueter and Rich Aurilia…among others. San Francisco Mayor Edwin Lee, Bruce Bochy, and Matt Cain were all in the audience.

Barry Bonds joins 48 other former Giants in the team’s Wall of Fame. Players on the wall have to have played a minimum of nine seasons with the team, or been selected to at least five All-Star games while wearing the Giants uniform.

Bonds may be the 49th member of the Wall of Fame, but he’s certainly a cut above most others.
