If it was up to Andre Iguodala’s son, the 33-year-old former Finals MVP would’ve had a rather seamless free agency. Though Iguodala did end up deciding to re-sign with the Warriors rather quickly after free agency began, the fact that he considered and met with other teams may have upset his son, who had no interest in leaving the Bay Area, just a bit.
Speaking on NBA TV last night, Iguodala said his 10-year-old son was none too pleased to find out his dad was considering leaving the Warriors.
“The guy sitting across from me, my son, he’s playing Madden,” Iguodala told NBA TV. “I told him I had some options, other teams I was looking at. I said we might be leaving and he started crying.”
When Iguodala’s son disputed the claim in the background of the call, the father was quick to refute.
“You did. Yes, you did,” Iguodala’s said to his son, and then added, “He said he was close but he wasn’t crying.”
