Zach Harper on 1050: Expect Iguodala to be back, McGee to leave

The Golden State Warriors just won their second championship in three seasons, and the sky seems to be the limit with star players Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, Draymond Green and Klay Thompson all under 30 years old.

General manager Bob Myers and the rest of the organization’s front office will have their work cut out for them this off-season, however. The Warriors will have nine players hit free agency on July 1st, and decisions will have to be made on who to keep and who to say goodbye to.

Zach Harper of FanRag Sports joined The Audible on 1050 Monday morning to share his thoughts on who he believes stays with the Dubs, and who goes.

“I think [Andre] Iguodala is back. I would like to see what Shaun Livingston wants to do in terms of getting paid because he can certainly get paid,” Harper said. “I say Livingston takes a little bit of a discount because he just likes to win.”

Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry, who both have contracts that are set to expire, are the top priorities for the Warriors, and there have been zero indication of either player even entertaining offers from other organizations. Fitting both Iguodala and Livingston, however, may prove to be tough depending on what other teams will pay for championship-proven players.

“I think JaVale will be gone, and they’ll just grab another project center,” Harper said. “They have Damian Jones, who they really believe in and think they can turn him into a solid rotation player.”

In addition to McGee, the Warriors will have to make decisions on big men Zaza Pachulia, David West and James Michael McAdoo.
