Andre Iguodala wasn’t necessarily the favorite to take home the NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year Award, but he was one of three finalists and did play a key role in helping the Warriors win the NBA Championship. Voting for the award took place at the end of the regular season though, and when the winner was announced Monday night, Eric Gordon earned the honor.

Iguodala scored 7.6 points per game this season to go along with 4.0 rebounds and 3.4 assists. But his biggest contributions were intangible, as the veteran’s defense and leadership were key in helping Golden State pick up its second title in three seasons.

Gordon, on the other hand, played a huge role in the Houston Rockets offense with 16.2 points per game in 75 contests (15 starts). He beat out Iguodala and Rockets teammate Lou Williams for the Sixth Man award.

Iguodala narrowly missed out on winning the award, finishing with just three fewer first-place votes than Gordon. Here’s the full voting results.
