After helping lead the Warriors to a 4-1 NBA Finals victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers in his first season with the team, Kevin Durant took out a full page ad in Wednesday’s San Francisco Chronicle, thanking the fans for adding to the incredible experience of winning his first NBA title.
Thank you, everyone, for making my initial season with the Warriors an incredible and exhilarating championship experience.
Great accomplishments are never achieved alone and are best when shared with others.

Durant was named NBA Finals MVP after averaging 35.2 points 8.2 rebounds and 5.4 assists per game throughout the series, while also hitting a dagger transition 3-pointer that sealed Game 3 for the Dubs. Durant will reportedly opt out of his contract this offseason, but is expected to sign another two-year deal with a one-year opt out, and is expected to take around $4 million less than the max to give the Warriors the flexibility to re-sign Andre Iguodala and Shaun Livingston.
