Krukow: ‘Puig is a moron, and he needs to learn it’

It’s no secret that Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig has had his fair share of altercations since breaking into the big leagues in 2013.

On Tuesday night in Cleveland, Puig appeared to flip off Indians fans following a two-run home-run he hit in the top of the second inning.

This is just the latest in a string of mishaps in the right-fielder’s career, which has seen him be benched for showing up late to the Dodgers’ home opener in 2014 and not hustling during a game during the 2016 season. Giants fans aren’t too fond of Puig, either, who has had a number of dust-up’s – not to mention some trolling – over the years with Madison Bumgarner.

Mike Krukow joined Murph and Mac on Wednesday morning and voiced his displeasure with Puig’s latest antics.

This is something that Puig is going to have to learn,” Krukow said. “He continues to do things that are so sophomoric. You just have to shake your head.”

“You know what? Puig is a moron, and he needs to learn it.”

Puig is hitting a career-low .239 on the season with 10 home-runs. Krukow shared a story from his minor-league days, when he learned to never talk smack to fans.

“I come into the dugout and tell the guy to take a hike or something, it was not that big a deal. Walt Dixon [a catcher] grabbed me by the neck. He pulled me into the dugout and threw me on the bench and he says ‘Krukow! Krukow! What’s wrong with you, boy? Don’t you know that man up there pays your salary? He pays your salary with that ticket he buys, that’s good hard-earned money he’s paying to watch you play baseball! Never say a bad word to anyone in the crowd!’”
