Everything we know about the Warriors Championship parade

It’s been two years since the Warriors had the last championship parade in the Bay Area, which is a relatively long wait given the Bay’s recent run of sports success. The Dubs held their first parade in 40 years in 2015, and now, they’re set for another.

On Thursday the city of Oakland will honor Golden State with a parade through the downtown area that will proceed to Lake Merritt. It begins at 10 a.m., though fans can start lining up for the post-parade rally at Lakeshore and 12th Street at 5 a.m.

The planned parade route is shown below. It will begin on Broadway at 11th Street and end up at the Henry J. Kaiser Convention Center. The rally is scheduled to begin at approximately 12:15 p.m.

In 2015, about one million people turned out for the parade, but city officials have reportedly been expecting crowds to be much larger this time around. Some estimates have ranged between 1.5 and 2 million people that will attend the parade and rally.

Fans are encouraged to take public transit and arrive early. Speaking of which here’s some information via BART for Wednesday’s event:
