Mike Brown will remain as the Warriors’ acting head coach for at least Game 1 of the NBA Finals.
Brown took the podium during the coaches pregame presser and, jokingly, confirmed that he’s pretty sure he’ll be manning the ship Thursday evening.
“I imagine I’m going to coach until Steve (Kerr) tells me he’s ready,” Brown chuckled.
Kerr was not expected to coach Game 1 after missing every game since the opening playoff series, as he deals with health issues related to back surgery last year. Kerr has been feeling better, however, and the Warriors waited to make an official decision on his availability until Thursday evening.
Kerr continued to take part in pre-game preperation as he did during the Western Conference Finals. It is unknown if he’ll be on the sideline for Game 1.
