SAN FRANCISCO – Well that escalated quickly.
In the 8th inning Hunter Strickland threw a fastball low and in that beaned Bryce Harper directly in the hip. Harper took offense to the pitch, and charged the mound…throwing his helmet at the pitcher before the two exchanged blows.

Following the game, Strickland met with the media to talk about the incident. One reporter asked the reliever what he was thinking with Harper bearing down on him.
“It’s go time. You gotta protect yourself, and stand your own ground,” said Strickland.
