OAKLAND — Prior to Game 2, Warriors acting coach Mike Brown was about 10 minutes late to his press conference.
Before he fielded any questions, he wanted to explain why.
Brown was following San Antonio’s police escort into Oracle Arena. In his mind, he had hit the jackpot. He didn’t have to deal with any traffic.But several police officers surrounded Brown’s Range Rover. One cop even got on his loudspeaker to yell at him.
While this was transpiring, Brown’s phone rang. It was Gregg Popovich on the other line, who was hooting and hollering. Popovich had a view from the team bus of Brown interacting with several cops.
