OAKLAND – For the most part, head coaches don’t give great soundbites in their pregame and postgame news conference. They’ve been in the game so long they know how to be boring and avoid unnecessary headlines.
This is not the case with Gregg Popovich. Coach Pop says what he wants, when he wants. And he did that Tuesday night.
Early in the news conference, Popovich said at the start of the game he didn’t think his team believed they could beat the Warriors after losing Kawhi Leonard. Long-time Bay Area columnist Ray Ratto asked Coach Pop about when he realized this.
