49ers deliver baskets of hope to local hospital

Brian Hoyer, Carlos Hyde and Pierre Garçon visited a local Bay Area hospital Monday afternoon in partnership with Super Baskets of Hope, where they spent the day handing out baskets filled with toys, games, craft and educational materials, gift cards and more to hospitalized children and families.

The players spent the day spending time with children and their families and hospital staff in a part of Nurse Appreciation Week. Parents of children also received baskets which were donated by Vera Bradley.

Both Hoyer and Garçon are new to the team as of this season but already seem to be taking general manager John  Lynch’s words to heart. At his opening press conference, Lynch said he would rebuild this football team with men who made a difference in the community.

“We’re going to have guys with great character, football character and we’re going to have guys that are interested in making their community a better place,” Lynch said. “That’s important to Kyle and I and it’s important to Jed.”

Hoyer signed a two-year contract with the 49ers in March while Garçon joined in a three-year agreement.

Baskets of Hope’s mission is to provide children who are severally ill with hope through gift baskets. For more information, go to https://www.basketofhope.org.
